Pastor Shakinah

Senior Pastor

“…in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

(Romans 8:37-39)

Pastor Shakinah Douglas, Esq. was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gave utterance, at the age of six years old on February 8, 1998. Before relocating to Washington, D.C., Shakinah was a faithful and active member of Jacob’s Ladder Community Fellowship Church of the Apostolic Faith in Inglewood, California, where her father, Bishop Robert T. Douglas, Sr., Ph.D., was the pastor and founder. She has served in almost every auxiliary in her father’s church since she was a little girl. From the ages of fifteen to twenty-three years old, Shakinah served the California District Council Pentecostal Young People’s Union as an assistant chaplain, secretary, and programming coordinator. While living and working in Washington, D.C. and Maryland, she was a member of Greater Morning Star Apostolic Ministries, under the leadership of Bishop Charles E. Johnson, Sr., where she served on the Social Media Team, the New Members Committee, the Baptismal Committee, and volunteered with Making the Most of High School.

Shakinah is a licensed attorney who earned her B.A. from UCLA in Political Science and African American Studies with a minor in Public Affairs and her J.D. from the Howard University School of Law. As a bi-vocational pastor, Shakinah is honored to have been employed in the public sector as a committed public servant throughout her entire professional career thus far.

On August 25, 2024, Shakinah was ordained and installed as senior pastor of Jacob’s Ladder Community Fellowship Church of the Apostolic Faith--now known as The Ladder Community Fellowship Church. Shakinah esteems her parents, Bishop Robert T. Douglas, Sr., Ph.D. and Suffragan Bishop Paulette Douglas, Ph.D., as the best role models for setting and attaining spiritual, academic, and professional goals. In addition to everything that they have sacrificed and done for her, Shakinah is most grateful for her parents being the genuine and trustworthy vessels that God used to bring her into the Kingdom.

While she is excited about the things that God has in store for her on earth, Shakinah is patiently and diligently preparing for the imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the catching away of the church. She is living to live again!.
